MIDS upgrades Hawaii DL to utilize Fingerprint Matching and Facial Recognition

Marquis implements advanced fingerprint matching and facial recognition technologies to prevent issuance of fraudulent driver licenses.

Fort Wayne, IN – Marquis ID Systems today announced it has implemented two biometric validation technologies into the Hawaii Driver License issuance system to significantly increase the already advanced security processes.  All applicants requesting renewal or duplicate driver licenses will have their images validated against previously stored images before a new card can be issued.  This process aids DMV operators in determining the validity of all returning applicants, especially in cases of similar looking applicants, brothers, sisters, and twins.  By performing a fingerprint or facial recognition match on the applicant, the chance of issuing a fraudulent license is virtually eliminated.
